Andtheheadcoach Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I know this is still 3-4 weeks away, but it looks like Coach Shields brought some good competition to the Tourney this year. Ryle, Dixie, Villa, LLoyd from the north. Estill, Greenup, Bracken, and West Jessamine from the south. The format of the tournament gives each team 3 days of games guaranteed. It should be a good 3 days of basketball. Don't know much about WJ, but Estill, Greenup, and Bracken were decent last year, and probably better this year. If you've never been, you should try to catch a game, or 4!
32minutesofpressure Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Is there a place to see the matchups?
Andtheheadcoach Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 Is there a place to see the matchups? The first round is as follows: after that, it depends on if you win/lose... Dec. 27 Villa v. West Jessamine time??? Greenup v. Dixie 4:30 Lloyd v. Estill 6:00 Ryle v. Bracken (listed as 6, but could be 7:30)???
Big Daddy Bear Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 First rate tourney with great atomosphere. We have attended the last 3 years and have really enjoyed it!
CountryBoy7 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Very nice Tourny usually alot of good Basketball games. Looks like this years line-up is yet again filled with Teams that will make for a great three days of Girls High School basketball. I hope to be-able to attend this year and see some good Games over the holiday break.
Hamilton Joe Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 This sort of looks almost like a 34th District vs teams outside the region tourney if you were to include the Ludlow Panthers instead of Ryle. I wonder if the people at Villa who put this tourney together ever gave that any inconsideration. It would make for an interesting tourney IMO. As it is it still appears to be a nice tournament. I might have to go watch a game or two of this one. Should be entertaining.
Andtheheadcoach Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 I believe this is the first year for Dixie in the tournament. I may be wrong. Still it gives people from NKY a chance to see some teams from around the state, and it gives those teams and fans a nice place to shop and see some good b-ball for 3 days! See you all there hopefully!
Hoops111 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Dixie's assistant coach, Tim Shields, is the brother of Don Shields, Villa's coach. Could be why they are in the tournament this year. Should be some good games though.
