REH5 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Henry Clay held on down the stretch to defeat the visiting Elizabethtown Lady Panthers. E-town led 17-12 after the first quarter but Henry Clay rallied to lead 31-25 at halftime. Henry Clay took a 47-36 lead in the third quarter but E-town cut it to 47-43 at the end of the third quarter. Henry Clay led 59-50 in the final period but E-town narrowed the deficit to 64-62 and an E-town three point field goal attempt missed in the closing seconds. 6-2 Sr. Gwen Rucker, a Louisville signee led Henry Clay with 21 points and 17 rebounds. 5-11 Jr. Brittany Coles and 5-5 Sr. Raven Price added 14 and 12 points respectively. 6-0 Jr. Alex Jones despite early foul problems led E-town with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Jones was 12 of 14 from the free throw line. 5-5 Fr. Natalie Greenwell added 17 points and 5-8 Sr. Jenna Goblirsch chipped in with 11 points.
