Ryle looked pretty good although they did miss a number of shots. They got after the ball and played pretty good D. It was clear that this was the first game for them and they have a lot of things to work on but I think that it was a good start for them and something they can build on. I did not expect the slow offence that Tate's Creek ran. I was expecting them to run the floor hard. I thought they had a lot of talent but they did not out match Ryle that much. Both teams looked like they were just getting their feet wet with the first game.

Who started for Ryle? Any suprises?

Ahern, Helmer, Maley, Russell, and Porter with a lot of subs so I would guess that the line up is not set for sure. The football players are rusty.

Tates Creek is going to be a good team this year. Before the season started I didn't realize how young this team will be. TC doe shave three seniors in Sparks, Stone and Spaulding however Stone and Spaulding have not had nearly any practice time due to injuries and football. Also trying to get a bunch of sophs and froshs acclimated to the high school climate can be difficult. As the season progresses TC will improve however the record may not indicate it due to the rugged 11th region and TC's extremely dificult OOD schedule.

I didn't get to see the game last night, but from a Ryle fan's perspective, you have to be pleased with the prospects for this season. I really think Ryle may prove to be a darkhorse in the 9th.

Sounds like a good one low scoring though. How did sparks do.My Royals play the Creek this weekend in Lexington.

"Low score" games have always been a problem for the Royals. I am sure it's not a secret. Just slow the game down and hope they have an off night shooting the ball from perimiter, limit second chance opportunities.
