The final score is not indicative of how good this Marshal team is. They had lost to only one other KY team (Graves Co by three I think).

Junior RB Tevin Barksdale scored on a two yd run, a 12 yd run, and a 12 yd pass from senior QB Trent Steelman. Steelman also threw a 21 yd scoring strike to senior TE Ryan Wallace. It was Wallace's sixth TD catch, and it tied the BGHS single season record for TEs originally set by All-Stater Felton Ray in 1978.

Steelman also scored on a 27 yd run and a 54 yd run. He had a 66 yd run called back on a penalty.

Automatic junior Max Oldham hit all six of his PAT attempts and nailed his first career FG (29 yds).

BGHS (9-1) will host Grayson County in the first round of the KHSAA 5A Playoffs Friday night.:thumb::D

I'd also like to point out that "Automatic Max" still has missed only one PAT attempt in his career (including five-for-five as a soph last year). Further, his PAT total for 2007 has now reached 58, and that passed Will Wade (54 in 1995) for second all time in one season at Alma Mater! I know that his famous grandfather (WKU Final Four Men's Basketball Head Coach John Oldham) is awful proud of his grandson right now!! He's on pace to shatter the school record set by Casey Tinius two years ago.

Thanx, guys...I know it comes from the heart from both of you!:D

I am very proud of the Purples' effort tonight with rare exception. They got out there, left it all on the field, and methodically took apart a team that is much better than they showed tonight. They have a few things to work on, but they appear ready for a long playoff run, and they appear better prepared for it too.:D

A twist for my Purples tonight on the eve of the 5A Playoffs!!!:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
