NewCath 38 Conner 7

Featured Replies

Conner scored first after NCC fumbled on the second play. NCC looked dreadful the first 4 minutes of the game.

Then QB Kues scored on a 44 yard run and Conner make a mistake in the kicking game, and NCC returned the fumble for an 11 yard TD. From then on all Breds although Conner did move the ball at times.

They lack a deep passing game though and the defense gives up too much in the secondary.

For reasons unknown Conner came out in a power I offense for the first time this year.

Was tonight the first time they have led all season?

I think it was.

Conner chips away and makes first downs but just isn't that explosive. Can't really explain why but I think they have a shot at winning a couple to close out the season.

This game is no surprise to me. Conner just doesn't have the talent that NewCath has.

NewCath is shooting itself in the foot too much this year. This team has ways to go to get out of this side of the state.

I agree about shooting themselves in the foot to much, what do you mean by getting out of this side of the state. Who will they play in the playoffs. I really Don't see anyone in our district knocking them off. Just curious:thumb:

No one will be able to challenge NCC until they get to louisville

Defense has been consistant, kicking/return game solid, but the offense still is developing. At some point you have to be able to just dominate the LOS and that has been lacking at times.

I look for these last two games against good quality opposition to be an opportunity to see who can get you there and where the fine tuning for the playoffs start.

I don't know the travel schedule, but if they have to go to Corbin, that will be a tough game. This isn't that dominating of a NewCath team. Conner gave up 41 pts. per game heading into this one. This can be a very dominating team with their offense improving, but bad snaps, fumbles, it just seems that they have unforced TOs every game. Against a good team they will not be able to get away with it. Also, once the weather gets bad, like was stated earlier, they'll have to dominate the LOS. They haven't shown the ability to do that yet. I'm not saying that they aren't the favorite. What I'm saying is that stupid mistakes could cost them in the playoffs.

you are so correct with your statements. The RB has had trouble with putting the ball on the ground. However the running game is going to full no one. Looks to me that they only run two plays Kelly on a counter or trap or the Qb keeps off this play. IMO only I believe they have to reinstall Keating(77) and wedding(59) back on the O-Line. QB needs to do a better job looking at all the receivers, seems he focuses on one route and is missing kids that are wide open. Maybe he feels rushed, not sure but its really hard watching the wideouts that are so wide open not getting the ball. One good thing he has about 5 or 6 different targets that can get it done. I too want to see more hardware on the hill and a three-peat, but without some adjustment somebody is going to knock them off.:creepy:
