2007/2008 Southwestern

Featured Replies

What does Southwestern need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They lost almost their entire scoring from last year. Nate Cross and Trevor Jones are back. They have some good young players, but, it is hard to beat good veteran players at any level. Dave Schulz and his staff will get them to play hard and be competitive in most games. By the end of the season, in the District tournament , who knows , they may pull an upset and get back to the 12th region Tournament. Good luck to Shootz, Big Al, Coop, Fitz, and Gill this year.

Sould be a learning year for the young Warriors, but Shultz is a good coach so they could be competitive at the end of the year.

Shultz is one of the best coaches in the state. The energy he brings will have the Warriors ready. They may only go .500 but they will pull some upsets. Could they sneak up on Wayne or McCreay in the district? It is always possible with Shultz at the helm.

I have heard rumors that some of the 8th graders may get looks this year.

I know SW is really paying attention to the fundamentals in their 1st 3 weeks of practice.Coach Schulz and company are really getting after it. I know they need to because of the youth and inexperience they have.

8th graders Cody Epperson and Justin Epperson will see Varsity action this year. I got a chance to watch SW practice last week and they will be competitive this year. TT and Trevor Jones were still out in fall sports and will only make the team better. SW has a kid that transferred in from Louisville that will help them reload. Aarong Young has improved alot over the summer and will suprise some people.

They will definately miss Casey Daulton and his leadership at the Point.

Nate Cross decided not to come out this year. He had a stellar Soccer season and is concentrating on it. That is what he will play at the next level.

The tranfer from Louisville that your talking about... Is his name Terrel? I think this may be the kid that went to Somerset last year and played on the jv team, he was from Louisville.. If so, he is some what athletic but lacks fundamentals and cordination, as well as struggled to stay elligable because of his grades.. I dont know if he'll contribute too much, but if Coach can work with him and he can keep his grades up, he could see some playing time..
