roosterhead
The Cougars scored steadily throughout the game to take the 49=13 win over Leslie County. Since the opening game fiasco against Hazard--the Cougars have steadily improved and now have to be considered the favorite to win the district( especially with Whitley County's loss to Perry Cent). The Cougars started only 1 senior on defense and these kids are getting better each time out. The offense can score in bunches and if this group refines the "little" things, they will continue to be successful. I hear some people talk of this being a weak district-----but that is where re-alignment by KHSAA placed them and this bunch is taking advantage of playing well against the teams in their district. Granted--there are no Bell Co. in there--but lets give credit where credit is do. A newly consolidated (third year) school that brought three schools together--one of which was a 2a with quite a bit of success---a 1a which had been successful a few years ago---and a 1a school which had never fielded a varsity squad. Take that mix and throw them into 5a football and in their 3rd year, they are 5-1. Ain't too shabby guys, ain't too shabby at all. Let's give Coach Howard and Co. credit where credit is due. Keep it up "Cougars" Keep it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
