I don't really understand that either. It's the same as having a range finder out there. On most of these courses, there are not a lot of sprinkler heads anyways and all you have to go from is the red, white and blue stakes that SUPPOSED to be 100, 150, and 200 respectively. But when you actually measure them it's anywhere from 5-15 yards off, which is a whole club. Not fair to the golfer. So if there is technology out there that would make this very hard game a little bit easier for golfers it should be made legal. I know traditionalist like to have people to the actual math and walk off distances if they can find sprinklers with it on them, but this is the 21st century and we need to act as such. Just my opinion on the subject. It is legal on some tours, it should be legal for high school play. Some of the kids already play slow enough, this would just be a plus for them.
