Due to the Ninth Region Tournament's format of three rounds in three days, Covington Catholic's Bill Krumpelbeck faced a managerial dilemma before the tourney's first pitch was ever thrown.

 

Should he start ace senior pitcher Josh Bleser in the first round, thus rendering him unavailable for the rest of the tournament?

 

Or should he save Bleser and hope the Colonels make it out of the first round without him?

 

Krumpelbeck's deliberation didn't take long.

 

"When I got our region draw and saw we had Boone County (in the opening round) there was absolutely no decision to be made," Krumpelbeck said. "Josh had to be on the hill for us to get out of this game alive."
