Their season had just ended, so the players' tears were not surprising. But no one associated with the Seneca High School softball team envisioned this type of finale.

Matched against host Sacred Heart in what most anticipated would be a competitive 27th District Tournament semifinal, just eight Seneca players showed up, and the Redhawks were forced to forfeit.

WOW how can you not get enough girls to a district game and especially one that you have a chance to win.Do you think this would have happened to a boys team? This is a joke.:irked:

I would really love to know the back story to this one.

Apparantly Seneca had 21 players on their eligibility list so why do only 8 show up? I know one thing, if any of those that didn't show were underclassmen they would never play another second of any sport at Seneca if I had anything to do with it.

From someone who was at the "game" Seneca's parents were harsh on the AD. Were there underlying factors that led to the apparant apathy of the rest of the Seneca team?

^ I have no clue and have heard nothing to support your question, however, I do find that this is a pretty telling sign of something..... What, I have no idea. I would anticipate if the school does enough digging around they will find a reason for the low turnout. Something must be going on......
