Judgment call, by Ump but fielder is entitled to make an attempt on the ball and I've never seen, a runner round 2nd and remain in the base path.

The runner wasn't rounding 2nd going to third, he was leading off 2nd base and went straight to 3rd base on contact running into the SS. Initially the umpire called it no interference but then reversed his call after the other team complained.

Didn't say he rounded, said round....where they get deep and either creep in or take an angled approach, to 3rd.

 

Not many teams, if any actually teach players to lead in a direct line, between 2nd and 3rd.

Curious, was the field Umpire the one, who initially said no interference or did he overrule.

No, this was a "C" knothole game with one umpire. He overturned his initial ruling and potentially could have cost us the game as we lost 4-3.

Its almost always interference when a baserunner collides with a fielder going for the ball.

 

In addition, if you only scored 3 runs in a C Knothole game, maybe it was the other pitcher that "cost" you the game and not the ump.
