***I didn't know where to put this, thought it was a great article. Figured I would post the link for anyone that might not have seen it.

Life was completely different sixty years ago than it is today.

Life was much simpler and many still long for the relative calm that was present in 1947.

It was one of the rare times in American history that we weren't at war.

One aspect of life in the commonwealth remains the same however, that constant being basketball, which as most of us know who are Kentuckians is a religion to many and an obsession to many others.

In Maysville in 1947, the mood was joyous when the beloved hometown school brought home the big trophy from Louisville after capturing the only state championship in the history of Maysville High School.

The legendary coach Earle D. Jones, what a great time in Maysville Basketball history. Maysville would not see another one in its time, but what a great era of basketball this was.

I loved that article about the 47 Maysville Bulldogs.I'm going to try to find the names of everyone in that picture. I know it would be a big headache to do but it would be interesting to see articles with pictures of all Maysville and Mason Co teams that has been in the state tournament and all other area teams such as Fleming Co and Bracken Co. Brings back good memories.
