ladiesbballcoach Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20070413/SPT0302/704130385/ Holy Cross principal Clay Eifert on Thursday appointed athletic director Cory Miller the school's girls' basketball coach. "I've coached my whole life. I got out of it for a few years," Miller said. "But for the last three years, I've been coaching freshman girls. My love has always been with basketball, more than administration. So it was an easy decision. I'm excited about it."
Ironlung Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Congratulations Cory! This was a mildly surprising hire when you consider who probably was interested in this job. I think Cory will do a fine job though!
Latch Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Congratulations to coach Miller. I for one am not at all surprised. I think he will do a great job at HC.
Baby D Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Because? Rob had a pretty good track record of wins for 10 years, including the District titles, All "A" Classic wins, and consistent regional play.
Latch Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Rob had a pretty good track record of wins for 10 years, including the District titles, All "A" Classic wins, and consistent regional play. He also had a pretty good amount of talent at the school over the last 10 years. I think he resigned on his own so maybe he has something else planned. Hopefully Coach Miller can get HC back competing for All "A" wins, but I also hope he focuses on the "other" regional tournament.
3ptshooter Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Coach Miller has his work cut out for him. What many would have considered one of HC's best players quit. It will be interesting to see if she comes back now that Coach Kues is gone. How was their Freshman team this past season.

3ptshooter Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I had also heard that she was not the only one who quit the team this year. OK, I had not heard of anyone else. I am going on the kids that started the season and the one I know of actually quit right after we had played them.
Baby D Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 All three Noll girls played - they were good. The coach is not always wrong when people quit. What kind of season would have been if Behrens did not "transfer" to Boone?

What kind of season would have been if Behrens did not "transfer" to Boone? Very true. Players have left Duke and I believe Coach K would be classified as a good coach.:thumb:
3ptshooter Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I don't think anything was said about the coach being wrong about anything. Katie would have made some difference but still not made them a contender, IMO.

I'm very confident that he's up to the challenge.
