Steve Lovelace named new Head Coach at Christian Co.

Christian Co. has named Defensive Coordinator Steve Lovelace Head Coach.

 

Christian Co. opened up the search for a new football coach after Mike Whitaker resigned. They contacted other coaches about the position but suprisingly got no interest in return.

Congratulations to Coach Lovelace.

 

I would guess other coaches weren't interested because they knew Lovelace was the lead candidate from day one, as he should have been.

Maybe so or maybe not. One particular Coach they really wanted wasn't going to leave where he is now because of the program he built. John Adams made a strong push for the job and had strong support from some of the notables in the program/school. In the end though the Principal had to keep her word as she talked Lovelace out of resigning in January for several reasons.
