At Somerset, we have a little tradition for all home baseball games. We, the students park all of our cars out in the parking lot behind right field and grill out in the parking lot. We also play cornhole and listen to music. It helps bring a lot more people to the baseball games and its an overall good time. Anyone else around the state have any traditions like this?

I dont know to much about Harrisons student section at games, but they have one of the best baseball traditions in the state. It is pretty neat playing there, I played in right field against them in their mcdonalds classic, and when you play harrison at harrison, you will see a bunch of cars on the hillside, all the radios loud for their radio stations commentary playing, it is a pretty cool place to play. With all the players that have went through there and have been drafted names on the wall, it is unlike any place you will play through the state.

I know at Bourbon Co at most home games they will have trucks out in right field and people will have lawn chairs set up in the back of them drinking "soda" and have their radios on. I can remember playing first base against them and well let's just say they weren't very nice to our right and center fielder.

Harrison is a big deffinate.

When I was in school at Boyd they had a deck built off the left field fence for the students. Some of the local resturaunts would cater the games every now and then. I can remember The Texas Roadhouse doing it several times. When they didnt the students would always grill out and stuff like that. It was always a great place to watch the game from.

 

The deck only lasted a couple years. It was eventually torn down because of the heckling of left fielders and such. Apparantly the trouble we were getting into out there outweighed the fun we were having. Now that I think back, probably a good idea tearing it down, I couldnt imagine any left fielder in the state deserving that.:laugh:
