When was the last time Valley didn't get a win @ home .........

Shelby Valley is currently on a 3 year win streak at home going back to their loss to Lexington Catholic 81-86 on 2/24/04. From that point the Wildcats have protected little Rupp and are on a 33 game win streak at home.

Those wins are from 03/04 = 1, 04/05 = 14 (Valley was the host of the District and Region this year), 05/06 = 10, 06/07 = 8 to this point.

Pretty impressive and good luck to the Wildcats.

I'm calling shenanigans on this one (bugatti 2002). This string is neither impressive nor does it have anything to do with luck. All it has to do with is creative scheduling so that the home team is never seriously challenged. Stuff like this is why those talented SV teams from a couple years ago never really achieved anything — because people up Robinson Creek told them they were great, so they never had to actually prove it. They could point to a gaudy record rolled up against mostly less-than-impressive opponents as their evidence they were a "great" team. In fact, all they were was the cream of the crop in a weak region.

They've done a bit better this year in playing Warren Central, who should win the 4th Region. The win over Corbin is nice, but outside of that, I'm not terribly impressed into thinking that SV is some kind of world-beater. If the 15th wants a chance at doing something in the Sweet 16, their fans better hope Paintsville wins it. They seem to be the only one who's played a challenging schedule.

Since the LexCath game that was cited earlier, SV has played exactly one difficult home game and scored exactly one impressive win — an 81-78 OT win over a Hazard squad that finished 24-6, but lost in the first round of the district. This game took place Dec. 7, 2004, in both teams' season-opener.
