Berea forfeits final game

Featured Replies

I have just seen that Berea has forfeited this Friday's game against Casey County. I hate it for the players to end their season like that.

I hate to be rude, but going forward there are a handful of schools I probably wouldn’t schedule, even if I have a struggling/rebuilding program. Based on the last couple of years there are some teams you just can’t trust will be able to put a team on the field. It’s unfortunate for the Casey kids, who have improved a good deal from last year but didn’t make the playoffs, to not get a final game.

I hate to see this for multiple reasons. As stated above, Casey has improved a good deal from last year and the year prior. Also, Berea has allowed their athletics to become nonexistent. Really a shame for their school. Do you think Casey picks up another game or would anyone be open?

They put out a request for a game. I did a quick schedule search and only two schools have played less than ten games and don’t play this week: Iroquois and Knott County Central.

From my understanding, Casey has reached out to Knott, but I don't think the game is going to happen. Casey coach was afraid this would happen and moved senior week back to last Friday's game just in case. Definitely a good call on his part!
