Both teams open district play this Friday as the Tigers make the short 8.5 mile drive down Bardstown Road to Mt. Washington to take on the Bullitt East Chargers.

Bullitt East sits at 4-2 and last took the field against Manual two weeks ago losing in a game that was never in doubt.

Fern Creek sits at 1-5 after losing to Ballard this past Thursday in a game that was shortened by a brawl that involved a lot of players from both teams.

Bullitt East is not having a great season but they are having a good one. As they open district play they have aspirations of challenging Male for the district title this year.

Fern Creek is in their first season under new HC Justin Nichols but have struggled so far this season having only bested Moore back in early Sept.

Historically this has been a tough game for Bullitt East, even when they seemed to be the better team by a wide margin. The Tigers seemed to play some of their best ball against the Chargers.

Not sure how many Fern Creek players will be suspended following the late game ruckus with Ballard but I will say that Ballard seemed to me to be the aggressor in that confrontation.

I think the Chargers take care of business this week but we will see.

My nephew is starting on Defense now and is the backup qb for BEast. I might come out to this game, as my Rocks are playing Ballard.
