2025 Republic Bank-Coach Lankster Classic at Sayre

Featured Replies

This is the 10th year of this pre Christmas tournament at Sayre and it has grown into a very nice event if you are in Lexington. This year's field includes Bryan Station, South Oldham, Wayne Co, Martin Co, Lafayette, Paris, Kentucky Country Day, and Sayre. Last year Sayre won the event over West Jessamine, Fern Creek, Clay Co, Wayne Co and others just to name a few.

Bryan Station and South Oldham are both top 25 teams and Martin Co and Wayne Co could be by time the tournament rolls around. This also features some great players, headlined by Amari Owens at Bryan Station.

Nice Pre-Christmas Tournament.  Kenji Berger is off to a nice start for Sayre as well.  He's averaging 21.3 points per game after missing last season with a knee injury.  South Oldham should be a fun team to watch in this tournament.  They have already attempted 122 three pointers through 4 games, and have hit 54 of them.  Nico Ballard has already drained 30 threes on his way to a 26.2 point average.  He has hit those 30 threes on only 50 attempts.

Any word on who won the South Oldham/Bryan Station semi-final game?  I saw that the winner will face Martin County in the finals tomorrow.

South Oldham beat Bryan Station in a great semi final game. Martin Co (who beat Sayre) and South Oldham will play for the championship tonight at 645 pm. It has been a fun tournament with some great performances, highlighted by Braxton Keathley's 12/14 on 3 pointers in the opening game vs KCD, followed up by Amari scoring his 2000th career point in the semi-final loss to South Oldham. Sayre and Bryan Station will meet up in the 3 place game. This really is a great tournament to start off the holiday season.
