A mid-level trough with a pocket of cold air will be located near Kansas and Oklahoma. As the trough approaches Kentucky, temperatures north of Interstate 64 will be in the low 50s around 5 p.m. EDT. South of I-64, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s. Also, precipitation will fall primarily in western Kentucky. By 11 p.m. EDT, temperatures north of I-64 will fall into the low 50s. South of that point, mid to upper 50s.

The purpose of this update is to reflect a modification to the initial forecast. The temperature this morning is a little lower than what was previously reported. Expect temperatures in the mid- to upper 50s, primarily east of I-65, and in the low 60s in western Kentucky at approximately 5 p.m. EDT. It will be in the low to mid-50s in western Kentucky and in the 40s eastward between I-65 and I-75 by the end of the period, which is 11 p.m. EDT. The likelihood of precipitation in western Kentucky has decreased.
