Last week the Danville Admirals (3-1) took a tough loss in the final seconds against 4A Lincoln County (4-0), who scored on a touchdown pass with less than 30 seconds of time left.  It was the first loss of new coach Steve Stonebreaker's tenure.  Offensively, the Admirals did well, moving the ball on the ground throughout the game and hitting some timely passes to keep the game close and pull ahead in the fourth quarter before Lincoln's comeback.  However, there are some kicking woes as the Admirals struggled on some extra points and defensively the Admirals were unable to get much pressure through the Lincoln offensive line.  Their secondary has also emerged as a concern.

This week the Admirals host Washington County (3-1) in the first district game for each program.  These two schools used to be district opponents and then went for a while without that being the case, only to now find themselves back together in a five-team district with Lexington Christian, Shawnee, and W.E.B. Du Bois. There is one common opponent between them as each has beaten 5A Anderson County (2-2).  Washington County opened their season with a 21-14 victory against the Bearcats while Danville defeated them 41-13.  The last time these schools played was October 14, 2022 when Mark Peach was the Admirals coach and led them to a 53-7 victory.
