What has happened to Bracken County?

Featured Replies

3 straight complete blowouts. After victories over Pendleton,Paris and district rivals Augusta and St. Patrick, the wheels seem to have came off. Brossart has shown since that their one-sided victory may have been justified, but Silver Grove and Russell County are winnable games(definetly not 20-40 pt. losses). Are there injuries,non-interest since the All A is over or what?

I could be wrong but i think they have lost just 2 games in a row by a large margin sg and russel they beat nicholis county but i agree something seems different here

Forgot about Nicholas, but didn't they just barely beat them at home. The same Nicholas that Deming beat by 40 in the Bracken Christmas Tourney. Would think this senior-laden team would want to close their final season out better as district comes up.

I saw Bracken play for the first time last night against Russell Co and going into the game I believe they were 14-7, 14-8 something like that. So I saw them as a good team, that just wasn't quite good enough to challenge for the 10th.

After playing a decent first half and staying close, everything went to heck in the 3rd, hence the final margin. What I took away from it is a few things went bad and it just snowballed from there and it showed in the team's face while it was going on. Like oh, here we go again.

I liken it to a baseball game with two outs in an inning, a routine ground ball which should be the third out leads to an error. Next thing you know that error has led to six runs being scored when it should have been an easy inning.

It was frustrating watching them last night, because I could just tell the kids kinda just gave up after falling behind, that "here we go again" mentality. I can only imagine how hard it is to play a game when you know you don't have near as much talent. But you have to keep scrapping and keep playing, I'm sure everyone here can list a few teams in the state that may not have the size or the talent, but they lay it out on the floor every night and get wins because of it.

They have games coming up against St.Patrick,Augusta, (winless)Williamstown,Deming and Calvary Christian. 5 games they should win,but could possibly lose 4. Is the 39th district a draw or seeded?

Gator, do you know the dates and times for the district matchups?

No not sure. Just know the draw is wed.

Bracken, St.Pat, Deming, Augusta, Nicholas County all have series of inconsistency, they may loose game to a team, and then later like Deming vs.Nicholas County comeback and give that team a shalcking at the next game. all 5 have a win against the other.
