CovCath 78 Campbell County 50

In a game that was never in doubt, CovCath won despite their starting five not even playing half of the game, and Michael Grimes not even dressing due to illness. Todd Jacobs scored 16 points for the Colonels in his first action in over a week to lead the Colonels to a 25/9 first quarter score and from there it was just a matter of how many CovCath was going to win by.

Thanks to National City for having the Sweet Sixteen State Tournament Trophy on hand for the game tonight, but unfortunately not maybe of the Crazies were in attendance tonight to see it. This had to be one of the smallest crowd that I have seen at a CovCath game in years, but then again, you could hardly blame the Crazies, as it wasn't much of a game.

CovCath will have a rather tough next three games as the young Colonels play Scott HS (Kenton Co) at Scott HS, then welcome 9th Region Touchstone All "A" Classic Champion Newport Central Catholic to CovCath, then the Colonels will travel back South on I-75 to meet Scott County at Scott County on February 13th.

Spoke to Billy Schult Dad at the game tonight and he said the surgery found a little more damage than they thought, which will cause a little longer rehab, but Billy came out of the surgery fine. Billy if you read this, there were so many fans of yours asking your Dad how you were doing tonight, that he told me he sure wished he had a dollar from each, as he would have gone home a very rich man tonight..... Good luck my young friend.

They're playing NC again? Don't they usually only play once per year?

They're playing NC again? Don't they usually only play once per year?

I can't say I can remember too many times where CovCath has played a team twice in one year, without it being because of playing against them in a Tournament game.... Really don't know why they are playing NCC twice this year...... but they are.....

Frankfort dropped CCH on the schedule and they needed to pick someone up. Over the course of the year, CCH has/will play NCC, Lafayette, Male, and Scott County twice.
