That was a quick season and fast district tournaments. We've seen a lot of teams across the state, seasons end. Let's take a look at the 1st Region Tournament and Final Rankings.

 

Marshall County won the region last season, can they repeat or will they're be a new champ?

Wed. March 5th - 6:00 PM - Paducah Tilghman vs. Fulton County. 

Wed. March 5th - 7:30 PM - Graves County vs. Marshall County.

Thurs. March 6th - 6:00 PM - Carlisle County vs. Mayfield.

Thurs. March 6th - 7:30 PM - Calloway County vs. St. Mary.

 

Sat. March 8th - Semi Finals at 1:00 PM & 2:30 PM.

Sun. March 9th - 2:30 PM - Championship.

 

MATCHUPS:

- Paducah Tilghman vs. Fulton County: First match up on the season between these two teams. Paducah Tilghman comes in 16-11 overall (11-5 Region) winners of the 2nd District. Fulton County comes in 9-13 overall (7-10 Region). 

 

- Graves County vs. Marshall County:  The Marshals have took two from the Graves County Eagles this season, defeating the Eagles 54-49 and 63-52. Graves County, winners of the 3rd district, comes in with a overall record of 19-9 (12-6 Region). The Eagles are red hot winning 5 straight and 8 of they're final 9 games. The Marshals of Marshall County come in as district 4 runner-ups. The Marshals come in with an overall record of 27-2 (15-2 Region). The Only team to defeat the Marshals this season is they're district foe, Calloway County. 

 

- Carlisle County vs. Mayfield: Carlisle County, winners of the 1st district come in with an overall record of 14-16 (10-12 Region) has lost both games to Mayfield this season 50-47 and 65-56. The Rockets cruised through the 1st district by ease but outside of that, they're record down the stretch is not pretty. Mayfield on the other hand comes in with a overall record 20-9 (7-9 Region), runner up of the 3rd district. Prior to they're 43-41 loss to Graves County, the Cardinals had won 3 straight.

 

- Calloway County vs. St. Mary: Calloway County, winners of the 4th District, come in with an overall record of 28-3 (12-2 Region). The Lakers are red hot, winning 10 straight, two of them against district foe, Marshall County, who was undefeated prior to they're loss to Calloway County back on Feb. 7th. St. Mary comes in with an overall record of 23-8 (13-5 Region). The Vikings have dropped two of they're final three games. Prior to those three games, the Vikings had won 7 straight. 

 

 

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Matthew Langhi (Sophomore) Marshall County: Averages 20 points a game and has scored a total of 581 points for the Marshals and he's only a sophomore. He's also the Marshals leading rebounder at 5 rebounds a game.

Jonah Butler (Senior) (Calloway County): Averages 22.5 points a game and has scored 671 points this season. He averages a double double a game at 22.5 and 9.8 boards a game.

Eli Finley (Senior) (Calloway County): Averages 21.5 points a game. Shoots 75% from the charity stripe.

Luke Sims (St. Mary) (Senior): Averages 21.4 points a game and shoots 40% from 3. 

Braden Waller (Senior) (Mayfield): Shoots 71% from the charity stripe and averages 7 boards a game. He's also the Cardinals leading scorer with 16 points a game.

Wyatt Rickard (Carlisle County) (Sophomore): Averages nearly a double double a game. Shoots 53% from the field. 

Miles Woodfork (Paducah Tilghman) (Junior): Leads the Blue Tornadoes in scoring at 21 points a game.

Tristan Kinney (Fulton County) (Senior): In 21 games, the senior has scored 330 points this season, that's 16 a game. He also has grabbed 229 rebounds, that's 11 rebounds a game.

I thought I was looking at Mayfield's roster and stats when I was typing his info out.
