Yes he is playing. My understanding is it’s a high ankle sprain and those can take a month or more to recover from. That is an injury you don’t want to try to come back from too early.

Boyle needs him badly. His defensive pressure and ability to get them transition buckets will be critical for them to generate enough offense to win against top tier regional teams.

Definitely. He will also benefit from Brown’s return as he is most effective in an up tempo style of play, running the floor and crashing the boards in a fast paced game.

The other issue is that after Driver, they’re pretty small. Smith is their next “big guy,” and he’s more of a 3 or a small PF. Tough spot for him to be expected to fill that role for Boyle.
