Good win for the Golden Lions this evening. Garrard pushed the lead to double digits in the second period and was never really threatened; Woodford cut it to nine with two minutes remaining in the game. Garrard County improved to 10-7 on the season and sets up an intriguing district matchup on Saturday with Boyle County, who fell to Woodford earlier in the season.

 

The Golden Lions were led in scoring by senior guard Jared Prewitt with 19 points. Junior guard Nate Ploskonka had 17 points. The win for Garrard was the first over Woodford since 2001 and only the third all time, against thirteen losses.

It works better that way! Garrard plays Boyle on Saturday night. The Lions played poorly against Lincoln last weekend so it will interesting to see how they shape up against the probable #2 team in the district.
