The refs alowed rough play from Lawrence while fouling out Ward for Ashland, typical officiating for our area, no consisitency between any crews and each game is diffferent because of the way they are called.

The game was called by a crew from the 15th region. Lawrence had more fouls than the Kittens 23-15. If the Kittens want to win they must shoot better from the line 7-23 will not win any games.

I agree with marooncat. Although it was not the best officiated game, most teams know that they must bring their best game when playing out of the region. Officiating did not lose this game for the young Kittens. You don't win many contests by shooting 7 for 23 from the line . On a positive note, Ashland's offense (besides free-throw shooting) seems to be getting back on track. 3 Ashland players had double-doubles (points and rebounds) - Stringer, Ward, and Strait.

 

As for Lawrence, their team and new coach should be commended on the positive turnaround in their program (currently 10-5). Led by Frasier at the point, they should make some noise in the 15th come tournament time.

you are correct, the refs didn't miss any. They took many opprotunities away by not calling it consistent though.

I can't believe that she is finally graduating. It seems like she has been playing for Lawrence for the last ten years. She has always been quick and had the ability to pass but this year it seems like she is really stepping up to take some of scoring burden (like a senior leader should). I see nothing but good things in her college career. Best wishes for her basketball future.

Funny how a change in coaching staff can help a player...I just wish the Carroll girl from Paintsville would have stayed. That would have been one of the best guard combos in the state!
