With the season and scrimmages starting soon, I'm looking for input on some of the top pitchers in the 9th Region.  We can open it to Statewide, but specifically I'm interested in the 9th.  Have any kids not returned to teams that played last season(s), are there any newcomers or transfers to watch for, and are there any injury updates that we may not be familiar with.  Who will be each teams #1 in their rotation ?

A few to start with:

Oliver Kerns at Conner is returning after having missed '22 as a JR with ACL surgery.  Kerns is committed to playing at the University of South Carolina - Upstate.

Brody Mangold is a hard throwing right hander from Conner who is committed to playing at Wabash Valley JUCO.  

Mitchell Berger, a First Team All-State 2 way player from last season at Beechwood, will likely miss the entire '23 season with having had knee surgery sustained while playing football.  

I understand there is an underclassman P at Ryle who may be really good, as time goes on?

Jack Hendrix at Highlands, likely their #1, remains unsigned ?  Probably a P in college when he commits.

A few arms I thought looked great this season:

Brody Mangold Conner: went 8-1 with a great ERA of 1.44 and only loss was to Ryle. Should have a fantastic year at Wabash next year.

Jack Hendrix HHS: Wow! He’s a delight to watch. 3-1 w an ERA of 1.2 Also should have a fantastic college year.

Dylan McIntyre Ryle: Very impressive as a Sophomore. 7-2.  Will be a big part of their rotation again next year.

Chase Flahrety Beechwood: Another excellent Sophomore. 5-1, 3.39 ERA, will be fun to watch his growth.

Bradley Zekl CCH: Big lefty went 5-1 with complete control over Highlands and Connor. Probably has a big summer.

Brach Rice Dixie: Was 5/4 but has a presence on the mound. Shout out for his lights out performance in that heartbreaking loss. Holds some football offers.

Luke Keippert St. Henry: Went 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA Nice player for St. H.
