Cooper 41 Dixie 20 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Final. Cooper was up 34 to 0 at half. Dixie did a great job battling and continuing to play hard and was able to tack on a few scores in the second half against Coopers backups to get to the final score of 41 to 20.

Credit Cooper for holding on and getting a late score to seal the deal. Great second half of football. Dixies best offensive output at the froshmore level to date. With all of their depth issues Dixie has a lot of kids playing out of position this is a gritty little group. Long run for a score, long pass for a score, forced a safety on special teams, blocked punt, blocked PAT, and things would have been very interesting had Dixie not dropped that 4th down pass in the end zone.

Agreed that Dixie plays really hard and fights till the very end. Now let’s not make this game anymore than what it was, considering all 3 touchdowns came against Coopers backups. Then you saw what happened anytime Coopers starters were in defensively or offensively. The game very easily could have been a 50 or more to 0 type of game if Cooper didn’t put on the brakes. The game was 28 to 0 after the first quarter, then Cooper started subbing freely and still got to 34 to 0 at half and a dropped two point conversion away from a running clock. Before using their whole second team for a lot of the second half when Dixie did a great job of making big plays against them to tack on a few scores. Dixie never quit and as you said are very gritty and play hard.
