Knox Central picked it up in the second half, but Ashland was in firm control by then. Great defensive showing by the Tomcats, who advance to face Boyle County in the quarterfinals tomorrow at 5pm.

Colin Porter led the Tomcats with 17 points and 8 assists, while Cole Villers added 14. Jevonte Turner was the high point man with 20 for KC. No other Panther was in double figures.

Have to acknowledge Ashland's Hunter Gillum. He's an energy guy off the bench. When Sellars went to the bench with foul trouble, Gillum (9 points on 4/6 shooting) stepped up and helped Ashland keep a tight grip on the game.
