The 1st Region is wide open this year.  I think there are five teams that could win the Regional Tournament - perhaps even more!  Here are my rankings:

1. McCracken Co. (15-6) - W at Univ Heights 64-62, L vs Lyon Co 63-87, W vs Hopkinsville 69-62, L at Hopkinsville 60-64

This Week: Mon vs Univ Heights, Tues vs CCA

A surprising home loss to Lyon County by 24 points at home for the Mustangs, but remember that the Lyons are the 2nd Region favorite.  I contemplated moving the Mustangs down in the rankings, but then I remembered that this is the only team that is undefeated against 1st Region competition.  All other teams have at least two losses against 1st Region foes.

2. Murray (11-6) - W at Lyon Co. 54-50, W at Union Co 83-67, L Clinton Co. 56-70 (OT)

This week: Mon at Calloway Co, Tues at Marshall Co, Fri at Mayfield

The Tigers had an impressive win over Lyon County in the All A Classic, and then unfortunately lost in OT to Clinton County in the quarterfinals.  In the beginning of this next week it will be decided which team can get that coveted #1 seed for the 4th district tournament.  The #2 versus #3 game will be a tough one for whichever teams are involved.

3. Paducah Tilghman (13-3) - W at Hickman Co 79-51, W vs Webster Co 76-64, W at Henderson Co 64-51, W at Critteden Co 72-58, W at Calloway Co 58-39

This week: Tues vs Ballard Memorial, Thur at Carlisle Co, Sat at Bowling Green

An impressive five wins for the Tornado this week over some quality competition.  Eli Brown and Mian Shaw are providing the one-two punch in scoring.  The game this Saturday at Bowling Green will be quite a challenge.

4. Graves Co. (13-4) - W at Mayfield 69-58

This week: Thur at Fulton Co., Fri vs Henderson Co.

It's now nine wins in a row for the Eagles and they have locked up the #1 seed for their district tourney.  Transfer Drew Thompson is leading the way for the Eagles averaging 20 points per game.  

5. Marshall Co. (7-8) - W vs Ballard Memorial 75-30, W vs Union Co. 73-55, W at Carlisle Co 78-56

This week: Tues vs Murray, Fri vs St. Mary, Sat vs Calloway Co.

Mr. Basketball candidate Zion Harmon is now back from his injury and the Marshalls are playing excellent basketball right now.  This week they have a couple 4th District clashes.  Can the Marshalls get the #1 seed?

6. Calloway Co. (6-9) - W vs St. Mary 53-45, W at Mayfield 49-45, L vs Tilghman 39-58

This week: Mon vs Murray, Tues at CFS, Fri vs Trinity (Whitesville), Sat at Marshall Co.

Two solid wins for the Lakers early in the week over St. Mary and Mayfield.  Busy week upcoming with a couple district games that will be key in seeding.

7. Mayfield (8-6) - L vs Calloway 45-49, W at Carlisle 72-58, L vs Graves Co 58-69

This week: Tues vs Hickman, Thurs vs Liv Central, Fri vs Murray

Colby Kennemore scored 22 points in the Cardinals win over Carlisle.

8. St. Mary (8-11) - L at Calloway Co 45-53, W vs Carlisle 62-48, W at Hickman Co. 58-49

This week: Mon at Ballard Memorial, Tues vs Liv Central, Fri at Marshall Co, Sat vs Ballard Memorial

Nice wins for the Vikings over Carlisle and Hickman Counties.  Parker MacCauley is averaging 19 points per game!

9. Carlisle Co (10-8) - W vs Fulton Co, L at St. Mary 48-62, L vs Mayfield 58-72

This week: Mon at Hickman Co, Thurs at Tilghman, Fri vs Critteden Co, Sat at Fulton City

The Comets can lock up the #1 seed for their district tourney by taking care of Hickman County on Monday.

10 . Christian Fellowship (16-5) - W at Liv Central 66-64, W at Fulton City 76-68, W vs Fulton Co 64-61(OT)

This week: Mon at Caldwell Co, Tues vs Calloway Col, Thurs vs Ballard Memorial, Fri at Hickman Co.

Three wins and zero losses for the Eagles this week!  Andrew Allen is scoring 17 points per game.

13. Community Christian Acad. (5-16)

14. Ballard Memorial (2-19) 

15. Fulton City (0-12)
