Ashland will look to make a third straight statement toward staking their claim as the team to beat in Class 3A. Spring Valley, WV enters from the Mountain State's largest division and will be riding high after knocking off the #2 ranked AAA team Bridgeport a week ago. Spring Valley thumped Ashland 35-0 a year ago, and a loss would potentially have a negative impact on the Tomcats' RPI with a shortened schedule.

This game is off because Wayne County is in the Orange on West Virginia Color Coded System.

I just posted in the RPI thread, but for Ashland this may not be the worst case scenario.

The risk of losing to Spring Valley probably outshines the reward for winning an out of state game in the RPI calculations.
