Mustang
Bishop Brossart secures the Class 1A, District 5 top seed with a 27-6 win over Paris Friday night in Alexandria. In the contest Mustang Senior Trevor Schadler set a new school record for most rushing touchdowns all-time with 22. Mustangs led early on the Schadler touchdown. Paris answered to make it 7-6 with 8:34 to play in the half. Their 2 point conversion attempt was no good. Brossart quarterback Jacob Leicht then found David Govan open in the endzone, making it 14-6 at halftime. Andrew Schwartz connected on both of his PAT attempts in the first half. Leicht hit Carson Schirmer for a 12 yard TD mid-third quarter and the Mustangs led 20-6 when the PAT attempt failed. A late game TD by Jacob Leicht on a 9 yard carry put the icing on the cake and an exclamation point on the victory. The Schwartz PAT was good. The Mustangs improve to 4-2 on the season, 3-0 in district play, and are on a four game win streak. They have three independent games remaining - At Lexington Sayre, Home vs Pendleton County and at Dayton. Paris falls to 1-3 and has Nicholas County remaining in district play.
Doubledee
Did Schadler get injured in the game? Didn't see him in the 2nd half and they needed him badly. Leicht is going to get too banged up if they keep using him to run on every play like they did last night.
Mustang
^^ Trevor is fine. Got dinged up on a play and was out so long as we maintained a safe lead. He would have returned should we have had to have him in order to win. 1
