Roundsteak
With the cancellation of spring practice and the likelihood of off-season conditioning & workouts being curtailed or even cancelled, will we see football in the state of KY take a step back? Since spring practice was reinstituted there has been an uptick in the caliber of teams and players performances. Now most preseason workouts will have to be done individually away from school. I know most of the programs will find a way for players to work on their strength and football skills on their own but it won’t be the same without the watchful eye of the staff. It just appears that we won’t see the same caliber of play that we’ve seen in the last 10-15 years.
barrel
Part of this depends on what restrictions the KHSAA puts on coaches and what that timeline looks like. Honestly right now teams could do a lot of mental reps, film work that they typically don’t get to do. There is a good deal of dead time going on currently and we just getting started. I’m not saying let teams meet but allow coaches to coach/train remotely for mental reps. If I had to bet right now I would say this coming season will start around district week play which is around week 5. 5-6 game regular season with playoffs. Not having this early season tune up games could make things interesting.
