McCreary Central 36 Wayne Co. 42 OT

Featured Replies

McCreary led 30-25 with under a minute left and after a Wayne 3, a bad shot from McCreary, Wayne ran the ball down the court and scored to force OT.

Low scoring game - the score was 4-3 in the second quarter.

Considering Wayne had been averaging almost 80 points a game this was ugly.Wayne shot 13/59 for 22% for the game. McCreary shot worse with 8/40 for the game for 20%. The eighth grader for Wayne stepped up big at the end of the game and made a big shot after stealing the ball from Waters to put in overtime and then again in overtime, she made the big shots. It was however a truly ugly game.

McCreary could've won this game, even though before the game I didn't expect them to. McCreary's Lindsey Waters had 27 points and 15 rebounds, and in the first game against Russell she had 23 points. McCreary plays five freshmen heavily and most are too intimidated to shoot. If a couple of freshmen point-guard Holly Stephens' threes would have fell, this would have been a different game by far.

I agree this game could have been much different. Wayne by 20+ at home. :thumb:

Sounds like it was a barnburner.
