Holy Cross Indians at Ludlow Panthers Football | 11/1/219 7:: PM | Digital Scout live sports scores and stats

Ludlow QB Ian Vallandingham (6-21-44-2-0) passes 18 yards to WR Cameron Underwood (4-38-1) with 1:21 left to edge Holy Cross 26-25. A subsequent poor onside kick put the Indians in business on the Panther 39, but a 2nd down interception by Braxton Newborn seals the win for Ludlow. Ludlow opened up the scoring in the 1st quarter on a 14 yard pass to Chris Cannon. Holy Cross roared back in the second quarter, scoring 3 times. QB Javier Ison (10-23-150-3-1) tossed two long TD passes of 57 and 38 yards to WR Brandon McClendon (3-106-2) and one TD to Jeremiah Hicks for 15 yards with 00:12 left in the half. Ludlow fought back in the second half to take the lead with two long drives lead by RB Cody Kramer (15-138-2) scoring twice from a yard out. After the second Kramer touchdown, McClendon took the following kickoff 82 yards for a TD to put HC back out in front. The main color in the 2nd half was yellow with several pass interference and personal foul penalties wiping out a long TD run by Hicks and keeping Panther drives continuing after missed 4th down conversions. Ludlow left the field elated at their late score and win while Holy Cross left frustrated with the calls of the men in black and white stripes. Final thought - it was pretty cold by the end of the game.

Holy Cross (2-8) travels to face Beechwood (5-5) on 11/8 in the first round of the 2A playoffs. Ludlow (7-3) will remain at home to host Bellevue (2-8) in the first round of the 1A playoffs.

Congratulations to Ludlow and Holy Cross on an exciting game Friday night. Ludlow has put together a winning record for the past three years: as of now they have won 23 games during this period. This has been a good job by the players and coaching staff. Not bad for a small Class A school.
