The Brossart Mustangs defeated the Lloyd Juggernauts 77-71 in overtime, Friday night in Erlanger.

 

The Mustangs overcame an early game 11-2 deficit to lead 18-17 at the end of the first period.

We managed a 32-28 lead at halftime, and clung to a 41-38 lead after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter it was the Juggs time to rally, opening up a 48-41 lead with five minutes remaining in the game, but again we forced the issue and overtime at 61s.

 

In the overtime, aided by an untimely Lloyd technical foul, the Mustangs built 7 point leads at 68-61 and 70-63, before going on to win 77-71 and improve to 3-2 on the young season.

 

The Mustangs were led by Senior J.D. Schumacher with 22, Sophomore Carson Schirmer with 15, Senior Bryson Wieland 14, and Junior Ethan Eilerman with 12.

 

Treshawn Cody paced the Juggs with 26 points, Tyler Szabo 23, and Tyrese Davis 12.

 

The Mustangs will be right back in action on Saturday afternooon in a 4:30pm afternoon game at Ludlow.
