Ranger
I have been going to the state soccer finals for several years. I don't ever recall a boys team with the foot skills and passing ability that the Purples possess. Maybe I am giving them too much credit but it was like watching a college team/semi pro team. (and I was rooting for Ryle.) Hard to believe they were just ranked #4 in the state going into the week of finals. This game wasn't as close as the score. colonelb
It said in the recap of the game I read that Ryle had a couple key players not playing. Why were they out? It did not say injury.
Crossbar
Cinderella season for Ryle. They pulled out a lot of huge wins over top ranked teams (St. Henry and Trinity along with GRC), but didn't get the big one. Still a good season. Congrats to both teams and especially BG for finally getting over the hump. They've had a lot of good seasons including my only trip to Gtown as a sophomore when I first saw them. Job well done to both programs.
