Best Athlete in the state??

Featured Replies

Who is the best athlete in the state in basketball terms??

I'm defining athlete as dunking, jumping, speed/quickness, flashy, exciting, build, well conditioned and even more Exciting...More simply put as someone who can take over a game with their athletism, someone with D-I athletism.

Preston Knowles, Darius Miller,Stepphon Pettigrew,Eudgene Wade,Scotty Hopson,Antiquawn Beckman, Duran Jefferson, Shelvin Mack, Matt Thomas, Jerrell Mayo, someone else...Who do you think??

I think Preston Knowles has to be mentioned in along with the rest of these players.

I edited my post for you.:thumb:

I would have to say Chase Minniefield and Aaron Boyd of Henry Clay. Both are big time prospects in football and both will start on one of the better teams in state in basketball where they will play huge roles and min.

I'll throw a surpise name at you, Scott Gill. As measured by the first part of your criteria, you'd be hard pressed to find a more athletic specimen in the state of Kentucky. He's 6'4",200 lbs, chiseled, and is being recruited as a Decathalete by several major D1 programs. He can run the 100 in 11 secs, long jump 23 feet, and high jump 6 1/2 feet. Now, as far as taking over a game with his athleticism, he showed flashes of this during the 16th Region tourny, but needs to be more consistent his Senior Year to rank with some of these other studs. I will tell you that his HS Coach told me the other day that he had 4 alley oop dunks against some strong Russell competition in open gym recently.

Sorry East Bank I didn't mean to sound rude. I just want him to get the respect he deserves.

If the question is best athlete?? Then Douglas Beaumont has to be mentioned. Now he might not be the best basketball player but is one heck of an athlete.

Kaelin Ammons of Franklin County would have to be mentioned. Unbelievable at Football on both sides of the ball, and he starts for the FC basketball and baseball teams also!

I didn't take it like that at all I do agree with you that he did belong on the list with the other guys.:thumb:

Preston Knowles...if you have not seen him play...you need to . He is exciting to watch..very athletic, dunks are unreal.

Best one of the bunch IMO

Pettigrew from E-town is the best athlete.

Madison Central will have a whole cast of players that are really good athletes. Ricky Rhodes, Chavez Dean, and Keyshawn Simpson all play football and are back at basketball this week. Add in Aaron Morris, Duane Fields, and a deep bench and you have one of the, if not the most athletic team in the state.

Madison Central is always athletic in Basketball and football. The coaches must push those kids hard.
