Owensboro got a pick 6 but other than that little Purples control game.

 

Great play from Purples O line and a couple of stud running backs.

Wasn't sure I was going to make this game but glad I did. Great competitive game!

Purples opened the scoring with a nice drive mostly of runs and a few nice passes from QB Spencer Newman.

Red Devils respond with a 25 yard FG, a pick 6 and then right before the half while near midfield throw about a 30 yard pass then take several attempts to run it in just before the half and O leads 16-6 at the break.

 

Purples come out blazing in the 2nd with a heavy dose of running by 1 Matrix Halcolm and 2 Carress Zehner behind a terrific OLine. They get a huge fumble recovery and take that in. Then force O to turnover on downs and great running leads to the final TD for the Baby Purps! GREAT Effort after being down 16-6 at half!

 

For Owensboro Fans, I was impressed with your QB. He was big and athletic and had a good arm. He pressed late, but was just trying to make plays. There was one power back I really liked that also played Safety #8. Plus some of your LBs played really well. Great speed at WR with some big tall rangy receivers that will only get better. Purples D just clamped down in the second half and that fumble was a killer!

Great game though! Great learning experience for both teams!
