Did the AD of NDA complain or at least try to get the Regional Finals in Region 10 in Soccer or Region 9 in Volleyball not play their games on the same day with almost identical starting times? Seems to me that the NDA girls will be at a huge disadvantage fan wise, with both their Volleyball and Soccer teams playing at about the same time on Saturday.

 

 

I still don't quite understand how the Ninth Region is not the Ninth Region in Volleyball, or for that matter in Soccer, compared to basketball? Anyone?

Games were originally scheduled for Monday and Wednesday. Weather forced them to later in the week(Wednesday and Saturday). Did not want to play on Thursday, back to back games is brutal(weather wouldn't have allowed it anyway). Not going up against football either on Friday night. Saturday is the best choice weather and timing wise. The matches, volleyball and soccer will be decided on the field or court. Fan support will have very little to do with it.

Understand your reasoning and thanks, but if fan support is not what decides the game, then why couldn't the game be played on Friday night or Saturday afternoon? The team from Ft. Thomas is playing at South Oldham, NCC is playing Belluve, and Holy Cross is on a bye and oh btw NDA doesn't have a football team. My guess is, if this game were played on Friday night, more people would have attended this soccer match up than would have gone to see the Team from Ft. Thomas or NCC play football in blow outs Friday. I really mean that. This is one reason girls sports will never be as popular as the boys games. they always play second fiddle.....

The main reason, the sentence after the one you bolded, to not play the game tonight is another day to let the field dry out. We got 2 inches of rain on Monday and .55 inches last night. I would prefer to play the match under the best possible field conditions. If we get a day tomorrow like late afternoon was today, field should be very playable. The crowd conditions are secondary. Nothing is more prime time then Saturday night under the lights when it comes to soccer.

As far as the region setup in volleyball they had to split the 9th up with the 10th simply because of numbers.In the old 9th you had all the Campbell Co schools still in the 09th.With title 9 alot of the schools in the 10th..Pendleton,Mason and so on started up volleyball teams in the late 90's sp they had to split the regions or you would have had maybe 5 teams as opposed the amount they have now.And yes the girls do take 2nd fiddle but its all about the money baby.

NKY soccer used to be one region I believe. But now it is two regions with 4 districts. Campbell County schools, and Covington schools in region 10, and region 9 with the Boone County and Erlanger schools. I think amounts of teams are the reason for this.
