Oldham County / Anderson County updates

Recommended Posts

These are two of the all-time winningest programs in the girls' 8th region.

Anderson County won the first 8th region title in 1975, and Oldham won the third in 1977. (technically, there were 7 girls' region titles from 1929 to 1932, but the KHSAA formally recognized girls' BB for the 1974-75 season)

Since then, Oldham County has won 12 titles, more than any other school in the 8th, though the Lady Colonels have not won one since 1994. From 1977 to 1994, though, Oldham won 12 of 18 titles.

Anderson County has won 5 titles, more than anyone not named Oldham County or Shelby County. The Lady Cats won back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, their most recent championship.

Oldham County is on a 3 game winning streak since losing their season opener to Assumption in OT...... Anderson has won two straight with an extremely young roster that features 10 players (out of 15) that are freshmen (5) and 8th graders (5). There is only one senior on the AC team.

This will be Anderson County's first game away from the Lawrenceburg gym.
