Anderson County, with pre-season 8th region player of the year favorite Cobe Penny, travels to Buckner, KY to face the Oldham County Colonels on Tuesday, 12/5/17.

In a wide-open 8th region this year, these two teams both have a lot of believers who expect one of these two teams to win the region - and many wouldn't be surprised to see this game be a preview of the actual final.

Oldham is off to a fast 2-0 start, and is getting good shooting from the field. Andre Brewer, known for his defensive acumen last year, is showing a solid outside stroke; he was 3 of 5 beyond the arc vs North Hardin in the season opener. Jackson Gibson led the Colonels to that 16 point victory with 14 points, and Travis Henderson grabbed 10 rebounds. The Colonels shot 57% from the floor - including 57% beyond the arc - in that contest.

Anderson played just one game last week, losing by 10 to Woodford County from the 11th region.

Who wins this one, and why?

Live (and archived) video broadcast begins at 7 pm on The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN

Oldham is certainly out of the gate fast, but I don't think the Colonels have any football players at all on their roster. Certainly helps in December....

Oldham really shooting the three well in the first two games...

Anderson wasn't very impressive in losing to a Woodford team that isn't expected to be a contender in the 11th, but Glen Drury is waiting for some footballers to catch up....and we've seen this before from Anderson. (slow Decembers)

Will be interesting to see how Oldham's pressure defense handles, or attempts to handle, Cobe Penny.

Oldham at home in this one.

Anderson has to develop a bench. Not very good right now and will start the year 0-3.

Oldham will win a lot of games during the season however IMO they will not be a region contender. They seem to always fold when it is time to play in the Roy.
