Browns Pick Ups from Waivers

Featured Replies

These guys have a lot going against them to make an impact--waived players usually don't, but...

1. QB Josh Woodrum waived from Baltimore. A second year player that passed for 10,000 yrds and 61 Tds at Liberty Univ. He is 6'3" 235 lbs. and runs well. Was 25 for 36 and 321 yrds, 2 Tds and no INTs in preseason. He will compete against Kevin Hogan and Cody Kessler for a backup position.

2. WR Kasen Williams from Seattle. The Browns are most excited by this pick up. He's 6'1" and 210 lbs.

3. WR Reggie Davis cut by Atlanta. He was an undrafted free agent this year. There isn't much information available about him. He runs a 4.31 40 yrd-dash and returns kicks.

4. NT TY McGill from the Colts.

5. CB Michael Jordan from the Rams. 6'1". He played for Browns new Defensive Coordinator, Gregg Williams, there.

McGill is a decent NT.

Kasen Williams made some big plays for Seattle in the preseason and I thought he'd make the team given the injury concerns with Richardson and Lockett. But ultimately, his blocking inabilities left him as odd man out. He's a playmaker, though.

^ Richard Sherman was very upset that Williams got cut. I am anxious to see him on the field. I think he may start at Cleveland, though maybe not the first game since he's so new to the team.

I love Sherman, but he's always upset about something.

I was upset too until I really studied the routes and what Kasen did when he wasn't the intended receiver. I completely understand why he got cut... But he can ball.

The Browns claimed Ty McGill from the Colts as already mentioned. He received a citation in Charlotte, North Carolina for possession of a small amount of marijuana over the weekend. It's a misdemeanor charge. Now we see what the NFL and/or the Browns will do. The team should levy a large fine on McGill for being such an idiot. I have no idea if he has prior violations.

This is a little strange. Must have been serious. Here's a quote from an article on cleveland.com explaining what happened, kinda:

Pryor, acquired June 1st in a trade with the Jets for linebacker Demario Davis, was immediately cut on Thursday after getting into a physical altercation with receiver Ricardo Louis during a walk-through before practice.

A source said coach Hue Jackson ordered Pryor to walk away from the situation, and he refused.

"When the boss tells you to do something, you need to listen to your boss, and if you don't, there's consequences,'' left tackle Joe Thomas told cleveland.com.

Louis, last year's second-round pick, will not be cut, Jackson.
