East Central (IN) 2 Kentucky Country Day 0

Featured Replies

Don't have any details on this one but East Central moves on in the Colonel Cup to meet CCH on Wednesday night and KCD will play St. Henry.

I watched 75% of this game, and honestly, it is hard to believe that was the result. KCD had SO MUCH of the ball, controlled the pace and flow of the game, and had a ton of chances around the Trojan's goal. However, they failed to tally, and EC did a nice job with their counters, and lo and behold, they move on with a 2-0 win. #19 for KCD needs a lot more touches, and I think by doing so he'll be more likely to share the ball and create for himself and others. He certainly appeared to be the most skilled player on either side. I truly think if these teams played again the result would be different, however, EC did what they had to do last night.

#38 for East Central is a really nice player, did a nice job creating dangerous opportunities on counters, and was tough for KCD to contain when he got the ball on his foot. Loved how he played, how he communicated with his teammates, and how he positively interacted with the backs from KCD. Solid player and fun to watch.

Really weird game though, by and large. I can't imagine EC and their style will be able to either contain CovCath up front, nor be able to generate many chances with their counters against the CovCath mids and backs. But....ya never know.

Believe that is senior Nathan Barga.

Adam Lyness and Jared Tiemann scored for EC. Goal keeper Peyton Wilhelm recorded the shutout.

Didn't see the game but spoke with someone who did, a person that knows these things very well. He says ECentral's strength is their defense. Will be a great test for CCH...and that's why you play a very tough schedule. Looking foward to this semi final match up on Wednesday @7:45 at CCH.

Expect a good first game tonight between Lex Cath Vs Oldham. Second games not so much, Ballard should not have problems with Bishop Brossart.

I don't want to debate with someone who knows these things very well, but I'd suggest he may be confusing numbers for skill. Playing 9 and 10 guys behind the ball tends to make it hard on your opponent to score. :D

I'll go with 4-0 tomorrow night for the Colonels, unless EC abandons the bus and actually tries to sustain an attack, then we might see a couple more Colonel scores.

Got it. My intel only said "EC strength is their defense", nothing more, no mention of individual players, tactical alignment, etc. Assume both staffs scouted each other, another fun part of watching the game, seeing how one staff tries to take something away, counters another's tactical decisions.

I like your prediction.

I believe #19 is a freshman. He is very good. KCD is a young team and is two years away from making their run. They had 5 freshman get time and will make an excellent core for their team in the future.

I believe #19 is a freshman.

Wow!!! If that is the case, that kid has an amazingly bright future. He is really skilled on the ball, plays very hard, and has plenty of speed.

I would suspect he will be on to a DA somewhere else prior to his senior year.
