My winners:

George Rogers Clark

Madison Central

Whitley County

Lincoln County

GRC 35-17

Madison Central 49-21

Montgomery Co. 21-20

Lincoln Co. 56-14

The best game in the district this week is Montgomery/Whitley. Two very similar teams after seeing both the past two weeks. I think Whitley would win at home, but after a long bus ride I give the edge to Montgomery.

Madison Central should take care of South Laurel. I don't see South's defense being able to stop Ricky Rhodes. Central's D also plays better against the pass then the run.

My picks- Clark Co., Mad. Central, Montgomery Co., and Lincoln Co.

Is this do-or-die week for South Laurel and Whitley County?

Three district losses will be tough to overcome and make the playoffs.

IMO, Madison Central is in a situation where they have to win tonight. Right now they are 1-1 in the district with a loss to Montgomery.

I'll take a conservative approach and say Central goes 2-1 against GRC, Lincoln, and North Laurel, that puts them at 3-2 in the district not counting tonight's game with SL. If they win, they are in at 4-2. If they lose, they are 3-3 and the tie-breaker situation wouldn't look good for Central.

The seeding in this district will not matter come playoff time. Any team in this district that makes the postseason should have a real shot at playing Henry Clay or Scott County in the Regional Championship.

Under the new playoff rules, is the District Champion the team that finishes as the #1 Seed or is it the team that advances to the Regional title game (provided that is a different team)?

George Rogers Clark - 35

North Laurel - 14

Madison Cenral - 44

South Laurel - 20

Whitley County - 27

Montgomery County - 7

Lincoln County - 45

McCreary Central - 0

From what I have been told, the district winner is whoever represents your district in the Regional Championship game. Regular season is for seeding purposes only. The new format is like High School Basketball in KY.

The records showing NL at 2-4 is incorrect but the one showing them at 3-2 is correct.

Should be some very good and meaningful games tonight.

Now that week 8 is here how does this district look
