The Accountant - To Leave Something Behind

Featured Replies

Could not find a thread here on The Accountant so I hope this i not too late since its on HBO now.

But I loved the movie and have really taken a liking to the closing score of the movie.

Sean Rowe's - To Leave Something Behind.

Many here should relate to it. Being of certain age helps.

If I could, I would "like" this post more than once. A bit violent for my tastes (and I'm a GoT fan), but the acting is very good. The ending is great and the song even better, so I've got a good take-away. The wry smiles on the faces of Kendrick and Affleck, as she's receiving his gift, and he's driving away are identical. The song is a perfect backdrop. I'm "of a certain age," and sometimes I feel as rough as Rowe's voice.

To some, the expressions of "paying it forward," and "shoulda, coulda, woulda," may seem trite. I disagree. On the days I "do the next right thing," clean my slate, and give back, I'm at peace. I get to drive away in my truck too, with a wry smile.

I may have read too much into your post, but it struck a nerve. Today's a good day. Hope yours is too. Thanks for posting.

I think you hit it. The song reminds me of the saying - 'what you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others lives on after your gone.' I think a lot of people here who have coached or volunteered in sports relate to that.

The child development - in this case autism - subplot makes the movie interesting for those who have faced child development issues. The following trailer seems to capture that part of the movie well.
