This year's 14th region was fantastic, probably one of the better region tournament's we've seen in awhile. Estill County, the domination that they've done in the 14th region since they've arrived, was dethroned by Leslie County, who would go on to win region.

 

With all the returning players everyone has, it should be nothing short of another fantastic region tourney in 2018

 

Estill County is the host of the region next season.

 

Lady Engineers lose 3 from this year's squad, return the starting pitcher, Kaylee Covey plus will have one of the best young pitcher in the region in Hannah Adams. Lindsey Wood, daughter of long time baseball coach, Danny Wood, also returns. Both home run leaders, Taylor Duechle (4) and Kailee Riddle (3) both return. Actually most of Estill's power hitters return. Lady Engineers had 12 home runs as a team last season

 

Perry Central returns all but 1 from this year's team. The pitcher they have listed in the stats on Maxpreps isn't listed on the roster on KHSAA so I'm unsure if she returns or not, she went 12-3 last season

 

Wolfe County returns 6 starters but losses their starting pitcher

 

Breathitt, Jackson City and Knott return majority of their starters

 

Hazard will be better than year's past.

 

Leslie and Letcher lose several players.

 

Powell will be much better.

 

 

Should make for another great region tournament next season. Unless they draw each other in the first round, I think it comes down to Estill and Perry and as biased as I am, I think Estill wins the region next season

Somebody couldn't wait for this season to end to look ahead to next year.
