As some of you know I've been making "Rustic Type" wooden American flags. I just started a "Kentucky" 15 Star and 15 Stripe flag. Up through Kentucky becoming a state one stripe and one star was added to the flag for each state. After getting to 15 Stars and 15 Stripes no stars or stripes were added for over 20 years before it was decided to go back to 13 Stripes and just add 1 Star as each additional state was added. The flag flying at Fort McHenry "The Star Spangled Banner" is a 15 Star and 15 Stripe "Kentucky" flag.

 

Happy 225th Birthday Kentucky!!!
