Marion wins their first 5th Region title after never having been to the title game before in history. Good hitting team and some good pitchers. They could have a nice run at state.

 

Nelson Co. kids are hurting, but they made a great run to get to the finals as the No. 4 seed coming out of the 19th District. Five straight wins coming out of the 4-5 seed game. They just ran into a buzzsaw tonight.

The last time there wasn't a 17th District team in the finals was 2003. I know that's not exactly what you're asking, but based on that stat, with there only being a handful of times two non-17th teams not getting to the finals means what you're asking may never have happened before.
